Time frame for An Bord Pleanála review plan disclosed

The implementation and delivery plan for the reform of An Bord Pleanála highlighted following last year’s review should be prepared by June this year, it has emerged.

An implementation group has been established with members drawn from the agency and the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government.

Last year’s review highlighted the need for legislative moves as well as changes to stakeholder engagement, governance, organisation and the deployment of IT.

The implementation group is expected to set up specific working groups and may call on expertise from other organisations including local government.

The development of the implementation plan will include clarification of issues raised in the review report and will identify the time frames within which key themes will be considered.
