Dundee student projects approved

Two student accommodation developments in Dundee city centre, which will house more than 500 people, have been given the green light: Gylemuir Limited has been granted permission to convert a former mill building on Brown Street into a seven-storey complex housing 361 students while further along West Marketgait, an existing Shell garage will be demolished to make way for 173 self-contained studio flats built by Crosslane Student Developments UK Ltd.

Wallyford new housing

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has submitted detailed proposals to East Lothian Council for 149 new homes, the latest phase of development at Wallyford.

New homes submitted for Kinghorn

Gladman Developments has submitted proposals to Fife Council for 140 new homes, at least 15 per cent of which would be affordable, at Mid Mire in Kinghorn.

West Lothian housing proposals

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has lodged plans with West Lothian Council for 101 new homes on land within Winchburgh as part of phase two of the masterplan for a scheme set to deliver at least 3,800 new homes, improved transport links, employment opportunities, schools, a new canal marina, the creation of Auldcathie District Park, as well as a new motorway junction.

Housing project earmarked for former Glasgow theatre site

New Gorbals Housing Association and Urban Union have released detailed plans for a high-density residential development of 64 homes plus a landscaped courtyard at the historic site of the former Coliseum Theatre in the Laurieston area of Glasgow.

Green energy company RWE’s two-megawatt hydro scheme in a protected area designated for golden eagles near Loch Etive in Argyll and Bute is now complete following over eight years of careful design and construction involving high levels of environmental safeguarding.
