RTPI slams ‘deeply flawed’ green watchdog proposal

Government plans for a post-Brexit environmental watchdog are ‘deeply flawed’ because it will only have jurisdiction over England, according to the RTPI.

The government proposed the watchdog as part of its 25-year plan for the environment before consulting on the new body as part of the Environmental Principles and Governance Bill due later this year. It aims to create “world-leading” organisation with the teeth to protect the environment after the UK leaves the EU.
