RTPI: Government urged to take ‘climate justice’ approach to protect deprived communities

Disadvantaged communities in the UK are bearing the brunt of the climate crisis and the government must respond through a ‘climate justice’ lens to address this.

The RTPI’s Five Reasons for Climate Justice in Spatial Planning report asserts that as severe flooding becomes more frequent, planners and policymakers must consider the social, economic, and institutional factors that can make disadvantaged communities particularly vulnerable.
