Report: Poorer communities most affected by ‘mediocre’ design of new homes

Less affluent communities are the most affected by the ‘mediocre’ and ‘poor’ design of new housing developments in England.

This observation is made in A Housing Design Audit for England, a report conducted by University College London (UCL) for countryside charity Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and the Place Alliance.Tom Fyans, campaigns and policy director at CPRE, said the government must raise standards “immediately”.“It’s no wonder so many of our communities feel apprehensive towards new development........
