Planning coordinator could raise the profile of planning

RTPI Scotland believes that the Office of the National Planning Improvement Coordinator (ONPIC) could raise the profile of planning as well as strengthen the ability of the planning system to deliver many of Scotland’s priorities.

In its second in a series of think pieces that seek to stimulate discussion to support the Scottish Government as it advances proposals to improve the planning system, the institute considers the Planning (Scotland) Act's provision for ministers to appoint a National Planning Improvement Coordinator to monitor the performance of and provide advice to local planning authorities.The paper sets........
