Planning can take a ‘leading’ role in avoiding climate catastrophe, says RTPI

Planning can play a key part in helping the planet avert the destructive changes to climate that will occur if global warming reaches 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, the RTPI has stressed.
The call for planners to take the lead comes in the wake of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) urgent warning that governments must act now to avoid disastrous climate effects.
