Drawing up a plan

More details of ambitious proposals for a significant development involving about 3,000 new homes as part of a major westerly expansion of Perth are about to be unveiled.

A proposal of application notice has been submitted to Perth & Kinross Council for the Perth West project.

The John Dewar Lamberkin Trust is proposing a four-phase mixed development of 240 hectares on land west of the A9 at the Broxden roundabout.

As well as thousands of new homes, the scheme includes new schools, a heritage park, a hotel, community facilities, public realm developments and a business park targeting eco-innovation businesses. The development would have its own heat and power network.

The recently adopted local development plan allocates about 3,500 new homes to the location.
