Moneymore water park makes waves

Splash Ireland has submitted proposals to Mid-Ulster District Council for a new recreational water park at a disused quarry in Moneymore near Magherafelt.
The development, designed to make use of a lake at the former quarry, would provide water-based outdoor sports activities, with the inclusion of an inflatable obstacle course.
Designed by OJQ Architecture, the scheme includes a reception building, toilet block, changing cabins, internal pathways, an inland beach, as well as parking for both car and coaches.
The seven-hectare application site was previously owned by a construction company but has since been filled with water to create a secluded five-hectare lake.
