Major mixed-use project by Belfast Lough takes shape

Proposals to establish a major £93 million mixed-use scheme at Giant’s Park on Belfast Lough’s North Foreshore have made progress.
A proposal of application notice has been lodged with Belfast City Council by Giants Park Belfast Ltd, paving the way for the submission of a formal planning application.
The estimated floor space of the proposed phased development is more than 90,116 square metres across a site occupying 101 hectares. The first phase would involve a hotel, fast-food outlets and a petrol station. The second phase would create entertainment and leisure space, including a proposed Giants Adventure Park and what the developer is describing as an equestrian centre of excellence. Phase three would see the creation of a research and development park offering 37, 160 square metres of floor space.
Public consultation on the proposals is scheduled to start next month.
