Chancellor Sajid Javid has announced that the fast-tracked Spending Round will take place next week on Wednesday 4 September. We asked you what the priorities should be.

The government said this one-year Spending Round would fund departments’ day-to-day spending for 2020/2021 and aims to deliver on Prime Minister Boris Johnson's priorities.

In 2020 a full Spending Review will be held to review public spending in the round and set multi-year budgets.

The Local Government Association (LGA) says the Spending Round must bring certainty for councils.
