Worthing seeks judicial review of approval of farm development on appeal

Worthing Borough Council has submitted a legal challenge to the High Court to prevent more than 450 homes being built on land at Chatsmore Farm.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council has succeeded in its High Court bid to overturn a planning inspector’s decision to grant an appeal and has been awarded costs of £15,298 against the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. The local authority contended that the inspector erred in his interpretation of its local plan and misinterpreted two policies.

Landowner convicted after illegal felling in Gower AONB
A landowner has been convicted after the illegal felling of over eight hectares of woodland within the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Swansea. Jeff Lane was found guilty of felling native and wet woodland without the appropriate licence at Swansea Magistrates Court. He will be sentenced at a later date.
