The Divisional Court has dismissed a judicial review challenge brought by broadcaster and environmental campaigner Chris Packham over the transport secretary’s decision to continue with the HS2 rail project, which will involve clearance work at six areas of woodland.

Ruling on justification for Co Tipperary forestry sale info request

Ireland’s Court of Appeal has overturned a “flawed” decision by the Commissioner for Environmental Information that data requested from the state forestry agency Coillte about a substantial land sale in County Tipperary, which it was claimed posed risks to wildlife and a historic site and buildings, was not “environmental information”.
