Johnson appoints 10th housing minister in 10 years

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has appointed Christopher Pincher as housing minister, replacing Esther McVey.

Since 2010, 10 people have held the post of housing minister.

Pincher, MP for Tamworth in Staffordshire, will be working under housing secretary Robert Jenrick, who remains in post.

Victoria Hills, chief executive of the RTPI, welcomed the news that Jenrick will carry on as housing secretary, calling it a sign of “much-needed stability”.
