Integrating planning and transport key to Northern economy, says RTPI

The RTPI has urged Transport for the North (TfN) to work with local and combined authorities to avoid increased car use as it looks to create new and improved transport links in the region.

In January this year, the sub-national statutory body published its 30-year programme of transport infrastructure investment.It featured proposals to establish a Northern Powerhouse Rail network, including a new line between Liverpool and the HS2 Manchester Spur via Warrington.Responding to a consultation to the programme, which closed on 17 April, the RTPI said new transport links can........
