Housing Delivery Test: More councils face presumption in favour of sustainable development

The government has published the results of the 2020 Housing Delivery Test, which show that 55 councils in England now face the presumption in favour of sustainable development.

This means that these local authorities failed to deliver 75 per cent of their housing target during 2020.To calculate the housing delivery test, the total net homes delivered over a three-year period is divided by the total number of homes required over a three-year period. The 2020 test considers 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20.Councils must deliver at least 95 per cent of their housing target........
