Government’s planning reforms will increase the threat to nature

The Wildlife Trusts has suggested introducing a protection mechanism called Wildbelt to make sure that the government’s proposed planning reforms would address the climate and ecological crises.

The government’s proposals, set out in its white paper Planning for the Future, would see zonal planning introduced, comprising three categories – growth, renewal and protection.
