General election 2019: SNP puts the case for renewable energy and green transport in election manifesto

The Scottish National Party (SNP) is committed to bringing to the market a £3 billion portfolio of projects, including renewables, waste and construction; planting 60 million trees; and reducing emissions from Scotland’s railways to zero by 2035.

The party’s manifesto, published ahead of the general election on 12 December, proposes a Green Energy Deal to ensure that green energy schemes get the long-term certainty needed to support investment and that a UK Government plays its part in delivering a Green New Deal for Scotland.
