Fosse Park

Blaby District Council’s planning committee has approved a retail and leisure development located next to Fosse Park.

Castle Acres was approved in line with a planning officer’s recommendation.

The £150 million project comprises approximately 288,000 square feet of floor space for a range of new shops, including a 90,000 square foot Next store and 34,000 square foot for a TK Maxx store, restaurants and cafes.

It will be developed by locally-based Next and site owners Everards and the Crown Estate, which also own Fosse Park.

It is expected that Castle Acres will offer up to 1,000 full-time jobs for local people.

Jane Toman, chief executive at Blaby District Council, said this expansion will not only create more jobs, but will also see Everards relocate to their exciting new development, Everards Meadows.

More details on the application can be accessed through the Blaby District Council Planning Portal on the council’s webiste by searching application number 15/0577/FUL.
