East Cambridgeshire tables withdrawal of local plan mid-inspection

Words: Simon Wicks

East Cambridgeshire District Council has threatened to withdraw its submitted local plan (PDF) mid-inspection, because changes proposed by the inspector ‘will result in a local plan that not only disempowers local communities but is so significantly changed from that submitted that it is no longer East Cambridgeshire’s Local Plan’.

UPDATE: East Cambridgeshire voted to withdraw its local plan at a meeting of the full council on 21 February. The decision followed followed an officer recommendation to withdraw in a paper presented to the meeting.
