Plans have surfaced for a £40 million industrial park project at Craigavon in County Armagh, which could involve a facility providing up to 20 units, each offering 2,322 square metres of floor space.

Chinese-owned airline seat manufacturer Thompson Aero Seating is behind the venture.

The company has already submitted a pre-planning application notice (PAN) for a major new manufacturing, assembly, research and testing facility on a 40-hectare site close to Craigavon's retail hub.

Alongside new offices, marketing space and an employee wellbeing centre, the development would involve new roads, other infrastructure and an electricity substation.

Now the manufacturer has submitted a second pre-planning application notice for what seems to be a new business park on the eastern section of the site.

It would see up to 20 separate class B-type units built over 20 hectares, ranging from light and general industrial to storage and distribution premises.
