Conservation areas and demolition

The demolition of unlisted buildings in conservation areas which previously required conservation area consent will in future only require planning permission.

No fee will be charged for such applications.

Planning permission will not be required for the demolition of ecclesiastical buildings, buildings included in the schedule of monuments compiled under Section 1 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979 or any other buildings specified by the Secretary of State such as those listed in Circular 01/2001 which covers applications.
