Ribble Valley Borough Council has granted reserved matters approval for 426 homes and a new spine road in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

The new homes will be part of phases two, three and four of Taylor Wimpey’s six-phase housing development at land off Pendle Road.

Phase one is complete.

The spine road will provide a bus link through the scheme from the access to phase one off Pendle Road through to Littlemoor.

James Berggren, associate at Avison Young, which acted on behalf of Taylor Wimpey, said: “The approval of both the new houses and the spine road mark a significant milestone in meeting the increasing demand for high-quality homes in Clitheroe.”

Gareth Bancroft, associate land director at Taylor Wimpey, added: “After the fantastic success of the first phase of this scheme we are excited that these planning permissions will now enable us to proceed with delivering the next phases of the scheme.”

Taylor Wimpey plans to begin construction in summer.

Baldwin Design is the architectural consultant for the scheme.
