Charnwood cabinet to consider local plan

Charnwood Borough Council’s cabinet is due to consider the area’s local plan this week. It identifies 154 hectares of employment land to support the creation of 8,900 jobs as part of the borough’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The local plan will be appraised by the cabinet tomorrow (10 June) and the full council on 21 June.The Charnwood Local Plan 2021-37 also:Allocates land for the development of 1,111 “sustainable and well-designed” homes each year up to 2037.Focuses development towards intensifying and extending existing urban and suburban areas and larger villages in order to protect nearly 279 square kilometres........
