Brexit poses opportunity to give planners more flexibility

While ‘substantive gains’ have been made in the UK from EU environmental directives, concerns are growing about the implementation of them owing to resource shortages.

A study commissioned by the RTPI considers how planning and environment management could work better after Brexit.

Planners, it states, “rarely attribute” difficulties they have experienced with EU environmental legislation and planning procedures to the legislation itself.
