Boris Johnson appoints new housing secretary

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has appointed a new cabinet after taking over from Theresa May. It includes Robert Jenrick as the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.

He takes over from James Brokenshire, who was in office under May from April 2018 until 24 July 2019.

Jenrick, is the MP for Newark, and voted remain in the EU referendum. This is his first cabinet role but he was made exchequer secretary at the Treasury in January 2018.

The new housing secretary is a qualified solicitor and has practised corporate law. He was a director at Christie.....Sign Up or Login to read full article
