A planning application has been submitted for the regeneration of Ham Close in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

The application for a 452-home masterplan was submitted by BPTW on behalf of Hill Residential, Richmond Housing Partnership and the council.

The homes would range from one-bed apartments to five-bedroom family homes, with availability across a mixture of tenures. Of the homes, 49 per cent will be affordable.

The masterplan aims to achieve a 66 per cent reduction in carbon emissions beyond building regulations by utilising a fabric-first approach and sustainable technologies such as photovoltaic panels and air source heat pumps.

Plans also include a community centre, which has been designed by WR-AP and public realm improvements.

Public engagement events and workshops were held with the community to guarantee that the proposals reflect the local communities’ aspirations and the area’s character.

BPTW collaborated with planning consultant Sphere25.
