Anglesey s.106 agreement seals £120m resort project

Words: Roger Milne

A £120 million holiday resort scheme at Holyhead on Anglesey has been signed off following lengthy negotiations over the detail of the s.106 agreement between developer Land & Lakes (Anglesey) and the county council.

The planning application was the largest ever handled by the local authority.

A leisure park will be built with 500 lodges and cottages at Penrhos Coastal Park, a further 315 lodges at Cae Glas, and 320 homes in the Kingsland area.

Some of the new accommodation will house workers if a new Wylfa nuclear power plant is built on the island.

Talks on a package of measures worth £20 million to mitigate the impact of the scheme have taken two years.
