£40m Salford residential scheme approved

Salford City Council has granted approval for a £40 million development consisting of 232 new apartments, with work set start in the New Year.

Bolton developer Forshaw Land and Property Group secured the permission today (16 November).

The plans feature three buildings ranging from seven to nine storeys, comprising 232 apartments. The development is on Worrall Street, Ordsall, Salford.

There will be 107 one-bedroom apartments; 19 two-bedroom duplex apartments; 77 with two bedrooms; one three-bedroom duplex apartment and 28 three bedroom apartments.

Proposals also include public space improvements, landscaping and car parking.

Planning consultancy Lichfields delivered the proposals with DLA Design appointed as architects.

According to Lichfields, the development will support more than 200 jobs and bring £30 million to the economy.

Nathan Matta, planning director at the Manchester office of Lichfields, said: “This exciting development responds positively to the council’s aspirations for the area through its high-quality design and accommodation mix.”
