Appeal: Javid makes split decision on Scout Moor turbines


Plans for 16 extra wind turbines at Scout Moor Wind Farm have been partly refused by communities secretary Sajid Javid.

Separate applications had been submitted for the 115-metre high turbines to Rochdale and Rossendale Councils as the wind farm crosses the border between the two authorities.

Javid turned down the application for 14 turbines within Rossendale because the proposal would harm the character and appearance of the landscape because of its openness, tranquility and attractive views.
