Appeal: Wind turbine would ‘significantly distract’ from beauty of AONB


Communities secretary Greg Clark has refused permission for a single wind turbine in Caistor, Lincolnshire, after ruling that the proposal would significantly distract from the natural attraction of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Clark acknowledged that saved policies of the West Lindsey Local Plan are silent on renewable energy, and therefore planning permission should be granted unless any adverse impact could be identified.

Clark agreed with inspector Paul Jackson that the harm to the setting and significance of the Caistor Conservation Area and the Grade I listed St Peter and St Paul Church would be less than .....Sign Up or Login to read full article
