Appeal: Truro residential development not adverse to highway safety


Permission has been granted for 45 dwellings plus associated works in Goodhavern, Truro, after an inspector found that council concerns relating to the development’s impact on pedestrian safety were unfounded.

Inspector R C Kirby gave consideration to the saved policy 13L of the Carrick District Wide Local Plan which requires that new development be accessible by public transport, pedestrians and cyclists and does not place unacceptable strain on the overall highway network.However, Kirby noted that this policy is more restrictive than national planning policy which advises that development should........
