Appeal: Staffordshire homes would not disadvantage hospital parking

Permission has been granted for the development of 150 homes on land next to Queen’s Hospital in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, after an inspector decided that suitable alternative parking could be secured for the hospital.

Inspector Ian Radcliffe noted that the appeal site lies next to, but outside, the settlement boundary of Burton upon Trent and as such is considered to lie within the open countryside for planning policy purposes. The siting of the development would therefore be contrary to the East Staffordshire Local Plan, but would not contradict policies in either the Outwoods Neighbourhood Plan or the Horn.....Sign Up or Login to read full article
