Appeal: SANG would not unduly influence decision on nearby homes scheme

An inspector has approved plans to create a ‘suitable alternative natural green space’ (SANG) on land near Wokingham, dismissing concerns that granting permission could influence the council’s consideration of a proposal for 250 homes on adjacent land.

The appeal relates to an area of scrubland north of the Wokingham Family Golf Course, near Finchampstead. The appellant, Gladman Developments, sought permission to create a “suitable alternative natural green space” (SANG) on the site – areas that are intended to reduce pressure on special protection areas (SPAs) and aid their conservation by providing alternative green spaces.....Sign Up or Login to read full article
