Appeal: Leeds housing development on ex-oil site rejected


Plans to build up to 30 homes on a former oil waste facility in Leeds have been rejected after an inspector decided residents’ living conditions would be unacceptable.

The appeal site in Morley lies adjacent to a mainline railway and an industrial premises that processes meat products. Inspector Philip Major acknowledged that while technical measures could deal with noise intrusion dealing with other forms of pollution was likely to be less easy.
