Appeal: Planning conditions upheld on listed barn-to-theatre change of use

A number of planning conditions relating to the change of use of a listed barn for uses including theatrical performances, weddings, and community events and farmers’ markets in Titchfield, Fareham, have been upheld, after an inspector decided that they were necessary to ensure the historic setting of the building and the living conditions of nearby residents.

The ‘Great Barn’, as it is known, is a grade 1 listed tithe barn dating from the 1400s, noted to be a “striking feature within the area”.
