Appeal: NP favoured over Hereford homes despite insufficient housing supply

Communities secretary Sajid Javid has refused Gladman Development’s proposal for 100 homes in Bartestree, Hereford, after giving significant weight to the scheme’s conflict with the emerging Bartestree and Lugwardine Neighbourhood Development Plan (NP).

The appeal site lies outside of the settlement boundaries for Bartestree, with the southern section of the site sitting within an unregistered park and garden (UPG) deemed of modest significance owing to its “uncertain size” and development intrusions.
