Appeal: Loss of employment land rules out housing scheme at bus depot

An inspector has blocked plans to build 14 homes in place of a bus garage and workshop in Worcestershire, ruling that the loss of employment land would be unacceptable after the appellant failed to demonstrate that the business is no longer viable.

The site, in the village of Eardiston, currently accommodates various buildings associated with a long-standing bus and coach business, including workshops, officers and a reception. According to the South Worcestershire Development Plan, employment-generating sites should be safeguarded to promote rural regeneration.
