Appeal: Just one extra housemate could harm Dorset Heathlands

An inspector has blocked plans to convert a room in a six-bed House of Multiple Occupation (HMO) into a seventh bedroom, after ruling that even one additional resident could harm the nearby Bourne Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The house is 400m from the Bourne Valley SSSI, part of the Dorset Heathlands Special Protection Area (SPA). The proposal seeks to convert an unused room in the house to an additional bedroom, increasing the capacity from six to seven residents.
