Appeal: Javid refuses 1,560 homes for Aylesbury

Communities secretary Sajid Javid has backed an inspector’s decision to refuse plans for 1,560 dwellings together with a primary school, nursery and mixed-use local centre after finding that the scheme would lead to the unacceptable coalescence of Aylesbury and the nearby village of Bierton.

Javid agreed with inspector David Rose’s assessment that a five-year supply of deliverable housing land could not be demonstrated by Aylesbury Vale District Council, and that there was persistent undersupply of housing in the district.

It was agreed that the proposal, submitted by Hallam Land Management, would impact on both the Hulcott Vale and Bierton Ridge landscape character areas, .....Sign Up or Login to read full article
