Appeal: Javid overrules three inspectors to block 353 homes in Waverley

The housing secretary has dismissed recommendations to allow three housing schemes near Farnham, Surrey, for a total of 353 homes, refusing each for conflict with the Farnham Neighbourhood Plan.

The decision concerned three separate applications to build housing on sites within three miles of each other near Farnham, a market town in Surrey. The first, submitted in March 2014, proposed 140 homes; the second, dating from March 2015, sought permission for 157 homes; the third, submitted in July 2015, proposed 56 homes.
