Appeal: Javid confirms wind turbines for Liskeard and Halifax

Communities secretary Sajid Javid has approved applications for single wind turbines in Liskeard, Cornwall and Halifax, Yorkshire, after ascertaining that community backing for the schemes had been secured.
In the Halifax appeal Javid agreed that the scheme did not fall into any of the categories in the NPPF for exceptions to development within the green belt, and that the turbine would therefore constitute inappropriate development. Though he posited that the impact on openness would only be minor to moderate, he gave this conflict substantial weight.
