Appeal: Javid approves 800 homes in Leeds to boost supply


Communities secretary Sajid Javid has approved permission for three schemes amounting to 829 homes in East Ardsley, Bramhope and Collingham after deciding that Leeds City Council was unable to show a robust five-year housing land supply.

In all three cases, Javid noted that the emerging Leeds Site Allocations Plan (SAP) is far from adoption, arguing that the failure to produce an adopted SAP until “at least December 2017” means that there is no policy to show how delivery of any houses, “never mind the magnitude required” owing to a persistent shortfall, will be achieved.
