Appeal: Integration of open space contributes to Thanet Wharf mixed-use scheme refusal


Creekside Village Developments Ltd and Israel Discount Bank Ltd have been refused permission for a mixed-use residential and commercial development at Thanet Wharf in Deptford, after an inspector took issue with the way the scheme dealt with open land provision and its failure to consider adjacent sites included in the Thanet Wharf Mixed Use Employment Location (MUEL).

The proposal includes plans for 216 residential units, floorspace for commercial units and a new public realm.Inspector Michael Hetherington noted that the appeal site is occupied by a number of derelict buildings, and lies adjacent to an under-construction scheme within the London Borough of Greenwich for 249 residential units and commercial uses.The Council of the London Borough of Lewisham........
