Appeal: Home next to sweet factory approved after report finds ‘delightful odours’


Proposals for a home near a sweet factory in West Yorkshire have been approved despite concerns about disruptive odours, after an assessment found the smells to be ‘delightful’.

The factory, owned by traditional confectionary business Dobson’s, operates day and night. Proposals for a dwelling next door were originally blocked by the local council, whose environmental health officer raised concerns about the impact of the factory's noise and odour output on future residents.
