Appeal: Highland housing proposal would not constitute overdevelopment

Permission has been granted for a development including 12 flats and three retail units in Kyle of Lochalsh, Scotland, after a reporter found that the scheme was not objectionable in relation to design and car parking provision.
Reporter Frances McChlery noted that the appeal site is allocated for development in the West Highlands and Islands Local Plan, and that Kyle of Lochalsh is identified as a “large life-line village” in the spatial strategy of the Highland-wide Local Development Plan (HWLDP), thus suggesting development is broadly supported in this location.
