Appeal: Henfield homes refused despite quashing of neighbourhood plan

Communities secretary Sajid Javid has refused permission for 72 residential units at the former Standgate Nurseries site in Henfield, Sussex, after judging that the recent quashing of the Henfield Neighbourhood Plan (NP) did not damage Horsham District Council’s housing supply position.

The Henfield NP was quashed by the High Court in April 2016, after a judge found issue with the plan’s approach to addressing the built-up area boundary. The appellants in the current appeal case, Stonegate Homes and Littleworth Properties Limited, had challenged the making of the NP after the appeal site wasn’t identified in the plan for development due to it being situated to the .....Sign Up or Login to read full article
