Appeal: Golf club wins permission to build homes

Outline planning permission has been granted to build 13 homes at Sonning Golf Club after an inspector decided that Wokingham Borough Council had underestimated housing need.

The Objectively Assessed Need (OAN) for Wokingham is 856 homes a year based on the Berkshire strategic housing market assessment dated February 2016. In its appeal, Sonning Golf Club pointed to a decision for a site in Charvil where the inspector concluded the OAN was 894, while a second decision at Stanbury House put the figure at between 862 and 890 homes.
