Appeal: Glasgow suburb to receive 186 new homes


A residential development with mixed housing has been approved for Muirhead, Glasgow, after a reporter found that North Lanarkshire Council had acted “unreasonably” in refusing the proposal.

The 10.6 hectare site is comprised of unused agricultural land and broadleaf woodland, which is a site of importance for nature conservation, but had been designated for residential development in the council’s Local Plan.

Concerns over additional traffic and insufficient wastewater capacity were dismissed after separate assessments found these to be mostly unfounded or easily mitigated.....Sign Up or Login to read full article
