Appeal: Farringdon East Crossrail ‘over site development’ approved

Permission has been granted for a six storey ‘over site development’ (OSD) on a street block acquired by Crossrail in Farringdon, London, after an inspector found that the public benefits of the scheme outweighed the potential harm to heritage assets.

The scheme will form part of Crossrail's Farringdon East Station development, where construction has already begun on a part single storey, part three-storey building housing a ticket hall and other railway service infrastructure. The appeal proposal would sit over and wrap around three sides of the station development to form a six storey building, with space for both office and retail use.
